那是在一个冬天的下午，外面吹着寒风，突然在一个农居的小房子里传出一阵又一阵婴儿的哭声，岳飞就在这天下午出生了。岳飞在妈妈怀里不停地哭着，小脸涨得通红，岳飞的爸爸在旁边来回走着不停地拍着脑门，哎，该给这孩子取个什么名字呢？正好这时候，小房的上面正好有一只大鸟嘴里哇哇叫着飞了过去，岳飞的爸爸脸上露出了微笑：对，就把这孩子叫做岳飞吧。希望他以后能象大鸟一样展翅高飞。
在岳飞出生只有二十八天的时候，这天早上岳飞爸爸要到镇上去办事，突然黄河发了好大好大的洪水，那洪水就象一个张着大嘴的魔鬼，从很远很远的地方呼啸而来，吞没了一个又一个村庄。当洪水来到岳飞的家门口时，岳飞的妈妈急中生智，抱着岳飞跳进了一个大大的水缸，就这样，洪水就载着这只水缶不停地漂啊漂，周围已经不见了村庄，全是黄黄的洪水。
终于，几天过去了，大水也退去了，岳飞和妈妈也漂到了一个小镇上。岳飞和妈妈便无家可归了，于是他们就在这个小镇上安家落户了。
